Windrow Wins again in the NW Series

Most of the NW Series teams were able to slip accross the Alabama State Line under cover of darkness. Unfortunately some of the teams were stopped and had their haulers impounded for “items deemed illicit by the Great State of Alabama”. Hopefully they will be able to overcome their legal problems in time for the remaining races. The minimal banking and lack of grip at Mongomery Motor Speedway would make it difficult for all the teams to make use of their horsepower. PA’s Cori Bibbus would roll off from the pole and lead early until a loss of traction would send him on a wild ride bringing out the first caution of the night. With the track maintaining it’s slick condition, the “spins” would haunt all the front runners. Using a bit of pit strategy, Jack Reacher would work his way to the lead. Taking advantage of a smooth style and the rest of the field fighting for second, he would pull out a comfortable lead. Even with several restarts, he would stay out front for a race leading 58 laps. A late race caution would erase what looked like an overwhelming lead and put series point leader Jim Windrow on his bumper. Windrow would apply pressure from the green and Reacher would suffer just enough of a loss of traction for Windrow to slip past and into the lead for the final laps. Pushing to retake the lead would prove a bad choice as another slip would allow Bibbus to take second and leave Reacher to finish in third. ECT Q and Vermont’s Chad Barcomb would round out the top five. With his fourth win of the season, Jim Windrow heads off to Birmingham with a firm hold on the series points lead. Maybe the Alabama authorities should check out the use of farm animals in the Windrow hauler LMAO. Next week could be the end of  Windrows streak as Hot Shoe Matt Corliss plans a return in his #28 Founders Brewery Chevrolet Impala SS. That should lead to some sparks flying.  See you next week.
