Thursday nights DIRTcar Series rolled into the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. With an awesome field on hand and a huge crowd in the grandstands, it was up to the dirt flingers to put on a show. And that they did. The 55’s were on the track first as OGR’s Ellis Jamrich drew the pole for the 30 lap feature. Ellie would lead the first lap, and then Matt Corliss would jump to the point on lap #2. Robert Baucom would slide past Corliss to lead the next 5 laps only to let Corliss brush off his rust to get back by and lead the rest of the way. Baucom was hot on his heels the whole way finishing 2nd, Jim Windrow was 3rd, Todd Taylor 4th, OGR’s Outlaw in 5th. Next up was the crazy 358 Modifieds. Windrow would draw the point for the 30 lapper and never look back, as he led all of them to grab the 2nd feature of the night. Point leader Phil Loedeman would end up 2nd, Bill Kring had a nice run to come home 3rd, feature winner already this Bruce Phalin wound up 4th, and Fred Marion was 5th. Finally the Outlaw Dirt Late Models took to the track for the Minnesota State 45. Loedeman grabbed the pole and track position proved to be the deciding factor, he would lead all 45 laps and fend of the the challengers of Corliss and Windrow.
