10/18/12. Brewerton Speedway was the action spot for the 3rd race of the DIRTcar Series. First up were “The Legends 55’s” for a 30 lap feature. Danny Savary surprised the field as he rolled the #21 machine’s out of the trailer and drew the top spot. Savary held off the pressure of Matt Corliss to lead all 30 laps and take his 1st checkered flag of the night. Next was the Modifieds for a 40 lapper. Bill Kring started on the pole and led 5 laps until Jim Windrow would take over the point with Corliss in hot pursuit. Corliss showed his patience and finally got past Windrow for the lead and led the next 7 laps until Windrow had mechanical problems with his brakes. Getting into Corliss sending them out of the lead. Savary was in the right spot in the right time as his dodged some late race crashes to capture his 2nd win in as many starts. Finally just when the fans thought the night couldnt get any better, the Late Models took to the track for there 50 lap event. Windrow jumped out to the lead and dominated the first 32 laps of the event only to see a yellow bunch up the field. That was all Corliss needed and he set Windrow up and made the pass to lead the last 18 laps to take the checkers. After the event was over, pit reporter Johnny Wishbone caught up with Corliss for a post race interview. When asked his thoughts of the night, Corliss replied ” after that modifed race I was ready for anything, I knew I could scare Windrow into making a mistake and he did in the late model race. As far as Savary, all I can say is wow! To come out here tonight and do what he did is impressive to say the least. All in all it was a good night for us and the #28 racing team.
