8/2/12. Thursday nights dirtcar series rolled into Fulton Speedway for the 9th stop on the season tour. The 55’s were up first. Tod Taylor would draw the pole and lead all 30 laps of the race. Phil Loedeman would chase Taylor most of the race but Taylor held on for an impressive win. Next up the 358 Modifieds for there 40 lap event. Jim Windrow drew the pole and would led 28 of the 40 laps. Windrow had a brain fart on a restart in turns 1 and 2 and decided to run down into the infield, that would hand the lead to Bruce Phalin, lucky for Windrow the race seen another yellow and Windrow was able to get past for win. Race three of the night was an 80 lap late model feature. Phalin would start from the #1 spot. Loedeman would look to have this race hands down as he built a sizable lead until a late race pit stop would end his dreams of a checkered flag. Bill Kring would pounce on Loedemans misfortune and drive his #32 Haas Machine to victory lane. With only 6 events left in the season, the points battles are heating up in all three divisions. In the 55’s Phalin has a 10 point advantage on Loedeman, and 34 out is Windrow. In the Modifieds Phalin has a 10 point lead on Loedeman and 19 on Windrow. The late models are the tightest, Loedeman leads by only 2 points over Phalin, Kring is only 3 out, and Windrow lurks just 15 back. Look for next week as the dirtcar series fires up again at Accord Speedway.
