Todd Taylor grabbed the pole and the checkers as he led 78 of the 125 laps to win the White Gate Services Whelen Modified Tour race on Sunday Night. In the final stages of the race Savary had the lead and the yellow would fly with only 4 laps to go, this meant racing back. With a hard charging Windrow gaining on Taylor and Savary, Taylor felt the need to getty up and unfortunately this would be the end of Savary’s lead. Taylor slammed the back end of Savary and got him loose. Danny almost had the #21 machine saved until Windrow was trying to pass the #4 of Taylor low and Taylor finished Savary off. Savary made a spectacular save, he completed a 360 and continued on for 3rd. Following the race Savary was quoted saying ” That motha bleeper will get his when he least expects it!” Fire works are heating up once again, with only two races left in the season. Point leader Cori Bibbus had a rough night with some transmission problems but is able to hang on to the points lead but had it cut down to 16.
