Paul McCollum came into Minnesota ready to put some damage on the competitors. In the 45 lap Modifed feature he led 40 of the laps to win. The Late Models had their 75 lap feature which saw Chad Barcomd grab the pole only to lose the lead to McCollum. As once again he looked to dominate the 75 lap event. Leading 70 of the 75 laps, McCollum looked to cruise to victory until a late race caution bunched up the field. On the restart with just a handful of laps left, Matt Corliss got a great restart on the high side to get past Dustin Roser for 2nd. Pressuring McCollum for the lead, Corliss tried the bottom off of turn two on the last lap and got into the leader and ended both of their night in a dissappointment. Roser was the lucky one as he went on to win and leading only 1 lap, the last. After the race Bob Dilner caught up with Corliss, (Matt, you had a good run going on that last lap, what happened?) Corliss Replied, (“I just saw a little window open and I stuck my nose in there and we got together, I hate it that it happened but thats just racing, I know Paul is upset, but in the end he will be okay.”) When Dilner went looking for McCollum he was unable to find him.
