Nascar Racing 2003 Season

Windrow and Forster Grab the Checkers @ Riverside Park!

The Sunoco Sk Modifieds tackled the Riverside Park Speedway on a cool Wednesday Night. The newly revamped racetrack proved again to be one of the most competitive speedway in the U.S. The venue was two 50 lap feature events. With the point battle a tight one, Bobby Ambroceo, Jim Windrow and Matt Corliss looked to try to take control of it. Instead by the time the sparks were done flying and the tempers were up, you now can throw a blanket on the top 3. The 1st race of the night saw Corliss grab the pole in his Founders Brewery #28 Chevrolet. When the green flew, Windrow, who started outside pole in the #12 Monk machine, would over take Corliss on the high side after a side by side battle lasted for the first part of the race. Ambroceo in the #78 Bills Auto Chevy caught a fading Corliss and started to work the low side, but was not successful as Corliss used the 2nd and 3rd grooves to hold Ambroceo off. The two ran side by side on the fast high banked 1/4 mile, for over 20+ laps. In the end Windrow held on to win the 1st of two races. Corliss was 2nd, Ambroceo 3rd, Todd Taylor had a great race in 4th and Chad Barcomb 5th.  Race #2 saw Ambroceo grab the pole. As blood pressures raised, it showed as the 50 lapper saw 5 yellow flags as the drivers patience were running out. A few late race accidents saw Corliss drive in a little deep and clobber Danny Savary. The both of them were escorted off the property after a tangle up in the pits. Neither one could be caught up with to get any comments, as Savary was very furious with Corliss afterwords. Meanwhile Chris Forster in his #05 made a rare appearance to stay out of mishaps to grab the checkers for the 2nd feature. Windrow had a nice run to finish off a great night in 2nd, Taylor was 3rd, Barcomb 4th and Corliss 5th. That tighten up the point battle as Ambroceo and Windrow are in a dead heat with Corliss only behind by 1 point. Savary is 26 out, with Barcomb 28 out.

ECT Outlaw Dominates at Coca Cola

Tonight Those Bad Boys of ECT’s Truck Series were at Coca Cola Superspeedway. ECT-Mike Scott took the pole with a speed of 192.943. The race started off with some close racing then it HAPPENED !! ECT-Da Bandit hits the apron going into turns 3-4 and collects a few trucks in the mayham. After the track crew cleaned up the mess the boys went rite back to there normal high speeds door to door !!! The race just seen 2 more small cautions for a a total of 7 laps.. With Sindone running up front all race it seemed he had the truck to beat. Then a bad pit stop dropped him back with about 25 to go trying to run down ECT Blaster and BSR Brianfade who with great pits stops had put a 20 second lead on Sindone, Then when all else failed the Yellow came out for the last time with ECT Redchevys engine blowing. This gave Sindone the chance to get up to the leader and a fighting chance to get to the front. When the green dropped Sindone charged to the front with Oldman pushing him. This would be the sameway till that Final lap when BSR Brianfade and Oldman played Cat & Mouse and came together coming down the main shoot and putting them both into the inside wall killing there chances for a win. This gave Sindone the Green light to haul ass to the Line for the Win !!! Great Race by All !!! Sindone now extents his Points lead by 126 points over ECT-Quack.. See you all next week at Talladgea Superspeedway !!!!!!

Mike Scott Takes a Wild one @ Michigan

The Bad Boys in the Trucks took on the High Banks @ Michigan Internatonal Speedway. Wayne Quackenbush grabbed the pole with a lap of 196.266 mph. As the green flag flew and the battle was on, as everyone scrambled for track position. After an early caution on lap 5, the field would settle in and we would see green flag pit stops.  Pole sitter Quackenbush would have his night end early as he was involved with Chuck McClure towards the end. Pete Sindone also had troubles late but would bounce back for a respectable run of 6th.  A late race yellow flag would seal the deal for Mike Scott(#46), as he would lead 42 of the 75 laps. Jerry Hayman in the #5 would end up with a strong run in 2nd, 3rd went to Bud Boykin in the #55, Lee Helmer had a great run in 4th in the #011 and Sam Spigelmeyer would  end up 5th in his #007 machine.
